All of the Things I'm Doing Leaving Me No Time to Read

I've seriously only finished ONE book in the last two weeks.  I'm about finished with two more, but it is SLOW GOING.  Shocker, since this is usually such a slow time of the year!  Here is what I've been doing instead of reading:

  • Cutting sheets of wrapping paper that are way too small for the present I’m wrapping
  • Spending all of the money we’ve ever had and ever will have on stocking stuffers
  • Watching The Christmas Chronicles with my family, and crying
  • Folding endless amounts of laundry
  • Giving tours of the house and praying people won’t see the baskets of unwashed or unfolded laundry
  • Baking, baking, baking and then eating, eating, eating
  • Vacuuming Christmas tree needles
  • Renewing my library books that I haven’t had time to read
  • Washing lots of dishes – mostly baking sheets and wineglasses
  • Purchasing alcohol
  • Making myself feel better about the fact that Christmas cards will not be going out this year
  • Purchasing gifts guaranteed to win Christmas
  • Talking Veronica though the hell that is 7th grade
  • Praying for guidance on helping Veronica through the hell that is 7th grade
  • Catching up with friends (more fun that reading, usually!)
  • Kissing Vivian on her pretty little face
  • Attending a new record number of Christmas festivities
  • Consuming SO MUCH more cheese than necessary
  • Reminding myself why my clothes are so tight
  • Thanking donors for end-of-year gifts
  • Listening to Vinnie’s jokes
  • Wondering why someone would pretend that their child was abducted
  • Thinking about all of the reading I’m going to do….after Christmas

You are doing a remarkable job keeping all your projects spinning at the same time!! Reading will be your reward for after the holidays. This time of year I tell myself I'll read some of the holiday themed stories as I sit sipping something yummy and looking at the lights but that is a dream and not reality. The reality is one more shopping trip, nothing wrapped and all the mundane things like doing dishes when you want to be nesting. Oh well, it is all worth it when the whole family has a wonderful Christmas

That's true, although I could still spend a little less time eating cheese ;)

Cheese is good. Keep eating it. Take it one day at a time. You have always been Wonder woman in my eyes. Hopefully you can slow down and enjoy all the wonderful things in your life, + get time to read !! Lol

Love you! (I hope I'm Wonder Woman in Jeff's eyes too because she's smokin!)
Sometimes I take things one hour at a time. For example, what's for dinner tonight? Nobody knows. We'll see if the pantry has sprouted something new and delicious since this morning.

I forced myself to stop doing crap so I could mull cider and drink it (not on the window seat where I wanted, as s big puppy decided to have an upset tummy...right there...right before I sat down) while reading. Note: gift bags will let you read more. Go bake some vegan num nums for your beloved sister.

I don't have any money for gift bags because I spent it all on my sister, so I could win Christmas!

I have an abundance of gift bags and boxes from years of buying them on clearance on December 26th. Text me if you need any. :)
